National Women’s Equality Day: HERstory Hunt and Toast to Tenacity™
The HERstory Hunt and Toast takes a look back at influential women in history and looks to a more inclusive future. The event will celebrate National Women’s Equality Day on August 26 from 10:30 a.m to 1 p.m. The HERstory event will be located at the Independence National Historical Park and Visitor Center. The event will feature a women’s history scavenger hunt and reception as well. Register for the events here and here.
BADGES & LIFE’S WORK: Two Photography Exhibits by Earl Dotter
Come enjoy looking through photojournalist Earl Dotter’s latest exhibit. Dotter has spent most of his career photographing American workers, especially in more physically strenuous fields such as coal miners and asbestos workers. This exhibit will challenge you to think about ways in which work conditions need to be improved. Dotter’s exhibit is held at the Rincliffe Gallery, Main Building, third floor from June 29 until September 1. The gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Light The Night Walk
Walk through UCity for a good cause at the Light The Night Walk. Here, you can walk and donate to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. All proceeds will go to research. The event will be held at the Philadelphia Art Museum on October 28 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. For more information and to register or donate, click here.
